President Joe Biden has been spotted sporting a MAGA hat as he shared a joke with a Donald Trump supporter while on an official visit.

During a visit to a fire station in Shanksville, Pennsylvania - the site of the Flight 93 crash on 9/11 - President Biden mingled with first responders. After delivering a speech and attending a ceremony honouring victims at the Shanksville Flight 93 memorial he encountered a man wearing a MAGA hat, to whom he offered his "presidential hat" adorned with the "presidential seal on it."

The Trump supporter, an older gentleman sporting Punisher suspenders, insisted that Biden autograph the hat, to which the president agreed. As Biden signed the hat, the man cheekily asked: "Do you remember your name?" Biden quipped back, "I don't remember my name. "I'm slow." That prompted the Trump supporter to call Biden "an old fart."

Biden, who is 81, admitted that he's "an old guy" as the MAGA supporter continued to goad the president. Secret Service or aids for Biden could be seen in the background of the clip, which was posted to TikTok by a woman claiming to be the Trump supporter's granddaughter, walking behind the president, making sure he was OK. The TikTok garnered over 1,000 views and just over 200 likes.

"You're an old fart, right?" the Trump supporter demanded once again, reports the Mirror US. Biden responded: "I know you would know about that." The other man then claimed he was a "young timer." Biden said he reminded him of guys he grew up with, stating, "There was always one in the neighborhood." It wasn't clear whether he meant a jokester or someone with far-right beliefs.

The man jokingly asked Biden if he wanted his autograph when Biden asked him for the MAGA hat on his head, and Biden said, "Hell no." Biden then took the hat and placed it on his head, which garnered cheers from those gathered, who had yelled out to him to do so.

"I'm proud of you now, you old fart," the MAGA supporter told Biden. The president's response? "Just remember, no eating dogs and cats." The Trump supporter then oddly said, "They're good," telling Biden they taste like "Kentucky Fried Chicken."

The Trump-Vance campaign was quick to share the moment on its social media pages, on one thanking the president of his "support" for Trump. Biden's own team was quick to say the act had been to promote bipartisanship, which Biden had touched on during his chat at the Shanksville Fire Station.

"At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country's bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that," White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates wrote on X. He added, "As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter, who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it."

During his visit to the fire station, Biden brought along beer and pizza for everyone to enjoy following their participation in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Flight 93 memorial.

Somerset County, where Shanksville is situated, is approximately 77 per cent Republican, according to statistics from the 2020 election. The hat incident also follows Trump's claim during the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday night that he would give her a MAGA hat because her politics were stolen from his own ideologies - a claim proven false.
