6 Scores Challenge: Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, 2024

Brentford v West Ham

There’s not a lot separating these two teams going into the weekend - The Bees sit just two points ahead of their London rivals, and their recent head-to-heads are almost evenly split.

Of the last nine meetings between the sides, Brentford have won five and West Ham four. Last season’s fixtures were particularly high-scoring events with Brentford emerging 3-2 winners at the G-Tech Stadium and the Hammers triumphing 4-2 at The London Stadium.

But it’s Brentford who are favourites for the three points on Saturday, with their two wins this season both coming at home.

Brentford 5/4, Draw 5/2, West Ham 19/10

Chelsea v Brighton

Just one point separates these two teams ahead of Saturday’s showdown at Stamford Bridge. Blues striker Nicolas Jackson has found form, netting four times and providing two assists in five matches this season, helping his team register 11 goals in total.

Seagulls frontman Danny Welbeck has also found the net on three occasions, while at the other end of the pitch Brighton have conceded just four times.

Chelsea have won three of their five Premier League games so far this campaign, however, all of those victories have come away from home.

Chelsea 7/10, Draw 31/10, Brighton 10/3

Everton v Crystal Palace

Both sides are yet to register their first wins of the Premier League season, with only nine goals scored between them so far. The odds suggest this is going to be a tight affair.

However, there is some good news for The Toffees, who are unbeaten in their last seven games against Palace.

The Eagles on the other hand will look to their opponent’s defensive record this season, with Sean Dyche’s team conceding 14 goals in their first five games - more than any other side in the top flight.

Everton 8/5, Draw 12/5, Crystal Palace 8/5

Wolves v Liverpool

Gary O’Neil’s men are winless after their opening five matches, and are currently propping up the Premier League.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are just one point behind Manchester City at the top of the table, having registered four wins. Their only defeat has been a shock 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. Mohamed Salah has scored in both of Liverpool’s away matches this season.

The Reds have won their last three meetings against Wolves, including a 3-1 away win at Molineux last season.

Wolves 7/1, Draw 4/1, Liverpool 4/11

Ipswich v Aston Villa

Sunday’s fixture is the first top flight meeting between these two teams since March 2002. Since then, Villa have faced the Tractor Boys four times in the Championship between 2017 and 2019, all of which have gone Villa’s way.

Ipswich are one of six teams still awaiting their first victory in this season’s Premier League, having lost two and drawn three.

On the other hand, Villa have won four of their five opening games, and travel to Portman Road on the back of a 3-1 win over Midlands rivals Wolves.

Ipswich 3/1, Draw 23/10, Aston Villa 10/11

Man Utd v Tottenham

Erik Ten Hag’s side have not won in their last three meetings with Tottenham, managing only two draws and slipping to an away defeat.

However, they remain slight favourites to take three points this time around.

United sit in 11th place ahead of Sunday’s fixture - one place below Spurs who have a superior goal difference - with both teams on seven points having won twice, lost twice and drawn once in their opening five games of the season.

Man Utd 13/10, Draw 11/4, Tottenham 9/5
