Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with a special shirt before Al-Nassr's 1-1 draw against Al-Ahli on Saturday to celebrate the forward reaching 900 career goals.

The legendary former Man United star reached the huge milestone after netting in Portugal's 2-1 win over Croatia during the international break, before adding his 901st in the following game against Scotland.

Ronaldo has a huge collection of personal accolades from his storied career - including five Ballon d'Or prizes - and he earned another after hitting 900 strikes, saying he was "emotional" after the achievement.

Al-Nassr were keen to commemorate Ronaldo's landmark but presenting him with a special kit that read '900 goals' on the back, with the words "GOAT" at the top before their clash against title rivals Al-Ahli on Saturday.

The fans also joined in the celebrations over Ronaldo's achievement as they unveiled a tifo with a huge image of Ronaldo alongside a sign reading "900 goals" and a message that said "Only heroes achieve glory".

Ronaldo said reaching 900 goals meant a lot to him despite achieving so much in his career already and insisted he had put in a lot of work to reach this point.

"It was an exciting goal for me," he said. "It's a round number. Only I know how hard it is to work every day to score your 900th goal. It's a unique milestone in my career. I don't break records… they haunt me!"

"As you know, I'm already 39 and a half years old and so you have to be very focused for things to go well. To be at this level requires a lot of dedication,” said Ronaldo.

"So, when these little records happen, small, big, I get emotional because I know and value what I do, and my team-mates, because obviously without my team-mates this would be unthinkable."

Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes against Al-Ahli but couldn't get on target and add to the four goals he has scored already for Al-Nassr this season.

Ex-Brenford forward Ivan Toney made his debut in the game, which saw Franck Kessie break the deadlock to put Al-Ahli 1-0 in the second half. Al-Nassr left it late to grab a late equaliser deep into stoppage time through Bassam Mohammed Alhurayji's own goal.
