'The Hollywood Derby' will be held for the first time when Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham travel to Tom Brady's Birmingham on Monday.

Inspired by the superstar profiles attached to their owners, the League One duel will pit two of the biggest names in the EFL system against one another. And both Brady and Reynolds bring some serious dough to the table given the fortunes being used to bankroll their respective clubs.

Record seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady traded America's Game for The Beautiful Game when he became a minority owner in the Blues last year, not long after his NFL retirement. Clearly keen to remain closely involved with sport, he put some of his £228million ($300m) wealth (per Celebrity Net Worth) to use by investing in a Birmingham team aching to get back to the big time.

As arguably the biggest name in NFL history, Brady's last contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a two-year deal worth $50m (£38m today). The veteran is estimated to have raked in around £175m in salary from his 20 years in the NFL, though there is a consensus he under-earned as a player and would have ramped up his wages if he was playing today.

He and ex-wife Gisele Bundchen were victims of FTX crypto collapse between 2022 and 2023, which is estimated to have lost Brady around £44m. The former No199 NFL Draft pick's earnings aren't in any peril since retiring, however, after Brady signed a 10-year, £285m contract to become an analyst for FOX Sports.

Reynolds' chequebook is also thriving as the star of the silver screen continues to land major roles in films like Deadpool, IF and Bullet Train. However, it's the Canadian's sideline investments through his production company, Maximum Effort, that has plumped up his estimated £266m ($350m) empire in more recent years.

As well as pumping money into numerous film and television projects, Reynolds has proved himself a dab hand at spotting potential across a number of fields. That includes a suspected £96m personal profit after founding and selling Aviation Gin, not to mention the £250m he's said to have made from selling his 25% stake in Mint Mobile, which was sold to T-Mobile in 2024.

Those eagle-eyed business manoeuvres have allowed Reynolds and co-owner Rob McElhenney to continue fuelling the Wrexham project that started in 2021. Three years and two promotions since then, the actor duo continue to ride the wave of fortune and are currently top of League One after five matches.

Birmingham are only three points behind but boast a game in hand, meaning a home win on Monday evening would see them tie level at the peak. Brady will be eager to see his side take advantage as they look to return to the Championship at the first time of asking, but Reynolds boasts both a financial and footballing edge (for now).
