Sancho habit that left Man Utd stars 'angry' as transfer future hangs in balance (original) (raw)
Jadon Sancho's Manchester United future is up in the air on Deadline Day, and team-mates may not miss one this bad habit should the out-of-sorts winger depart before the window shuts
Sancho's bad training habit has been revealed
Jadon Sancho upset his Manchester United peers by constantly turning up late to training, and enters Deadline Day with an uncertain future.
Sancho's United tenure has been uninspiring so far. Since his £73million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, the 24-year-old has failed to make a mark on the Red Devils' first team, and his fallout with boss Erik ten Hag still lingers despite the pair seemingly making amends.
It was initially thought that past issues would be treated as water under the bridge, and Sancho would be given a chance at United this season - as he was in the Community Shield. Alas, he missed a spot kick in the shootout and hasn't made either of the club's opening Premier League matchday squads.
As the transfer window reaches its climax, both Chelsea and Juventus are the two leading names touted as suitors for Sancho, and some of his team-mates may be glad to see the back of the winger in light of his documented unpunctuality.

Ex-Chelsea and United midfielder Nemanja Matic was the player who revealed Sancho's tardiness, as the two were team-mates at Old Trafford for a single season in 2021 before the 36-year-old Serbian left for AS Roma.
"At Chelsea, players acted professionally. They were punctual and were never late for training. But at United, it happened almost every day," Matic told Austrian outlet YuPlanet in 2023.

"Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho, and a couple of other players. The rest of us who were always on time were angry so we decided to form a kind of an internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president.
"I put a sheet of paper up on the wall where I documented the names of individuals arriving late. During one particular season, we collected around £75,000 in fines."

It is unclear where Sancho will end up playing this season. While remaining at United is a possibility, the English star may look for a place where he'll play regularly, considering his current situation - being ousted from the first team by the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo.
Enzo Maresca's Blues have emerged as a leading name, and a swap deal that would see the exiled Raheem Sterling arrive in Manchester has been mooted. However, if Sancho is after playing time, Chelsea's overpopulated squad may not be the best fit.
Reports in Italy suggested that an initial loan deal that would see Sancho to head to Juventus was agreed upon this week, only for Sky Sports to state that the Old Lady have withdrawn all interest in the forward – cutting off one of his dwindling exit routes.
If he is to leave this window, is is reported that United would prefer a permanent deal and would be willing to accept an offer in the region of £25m - a far cry from the nearly £100m the Red Devils were supposedly once quoted when pursuing Sancho just three years ago.
