Liverpool owner FSG told what they must finally do to keep Mo Salah and crucial duo

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold's contracts expire in July and former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders has outlined what they must do to keep them

Liverpool have been told what to do if they want to hang on to their star trio Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The contracts of all three expire in July and Liverpool have not yet made a breakthrough in talks despite all the negotiations. Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders claims it would be difficult for the club to replace three of their best players.

Saunders says he was surprised when Sadio Mane left Anfield to join Bayern Munich in 2022 because the Bundesliga giants offered him more money.

The former Wales international says Liverpool’s owners FSG must dig deep to give van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold want they want to stay at the club.

Saudi Arabia’s Pro League would love to sign Salah after Liverpool rejected a £150million bid from club Al-Ittihad for the Egyptian star just over 13 months ago.

Saunders is also worried by Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold and he knows how difficult it is for the Reds to compete with the Spanish giants financially.

“My biggest worry for Liverpool is if they lose Trent, van Dijk and Salah,” Saunders told bettingexpert.com. “They’re the best three players in the team and it’ll be difficult to replace them.

“So they need to give them the money. Money talks. I was surprised they let Mane go. I would have offered him what he wanted. If you want to win the league you’ve got to put your hand in your pocket.

“Trent can get £300,000-a-week from someone else like Real Madrid. Don’t be surprised if you see him at Real Madrid. If other clubs are willing to pay the wages and Liverpool want to win the league, they’ve got to say here’s the money.”
