After weeks of rumours and endless speculation, we finally have our first look at the new MacBook Neo.
It's been a very busy week for Apple. The US technology brand has launched a swathe of new devices, including an iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air and new MacBook Pro machines with the latest M5 processors inside. Now the firm is back with another announcement, and it finally lifts the lid on what many had been expecting - a laptop with a much more affordable price tag.
It's called the MacBook Neo and features a colourful design, impressive performance and a pixel-packed 13-inch screen for just £599. Yes, you can finally buy a new Mac for under £600.
That's a whopping £500 less than the latest MacBook Air, which was also announced this week.
The Neo is the first MacBook to use Apple's A18 Pro-series smartphone processor to power it and although it's not as quick as M-powered PCs this device is fully capable of keeping pace with your daily digital needs. It runs macOS and features full access to all the usual applications such as Microsoft Word, Pages and iMovie.
It's also super efficient, which means owners can expect over 15 hours of life before needing to find a plug.
Other extras include two USB-C ports - there's no MagSafe charging, unfortunately.
There's also a decent 1080p FaceTime HD camera for making video calls, a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, plus a Magic Keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad.
It even comes in some fancy colours, including Silver, Indigo, Blush and Citrus.
It's available to pre-order now and arrives in stores next week.
