If the thought of a giant smartwatch pinging all day on your wrist sounds infuriating, Samsung may have the solution. The firm has just announced the official launch of its new Galaxy Ring wearable which is designed to track your health without being so intrusive.

With this gadget pushed onto your finger you'll get a swathe of data beamed to your smartphone including heart rate, temperature, fitness tracking and how inactive you've been.

It will even watch over you at night to see how well you've slept and offer a daily Energy Score based on the data it's collected via its tiny in-built sensors.

Samsung says it's been made out of lightweight but durable Titanium and it can survive being taken for a dip in the pool.

The Galaxy Ring comes with a neat charging case and once fully refilled should last around a week - that battery life puts most smartwatches to shame.

There are three colours to choose from including Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold plus you can pick from 8 different sizes.

If you fancy the Galaxy Ring on your finger then it's available to pre-order now and costs £399.

Samsung says it will arrive in stores from July 24.

“The latest additions to our wearables portfolio integrate Samsung’s most advanced technologies and innovations, enabling you to take control of your health and wellness with preventative healthcare solutions,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.

“The intelligence, guidance, and insights that are offered with Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra will help users turn data into meaningful insights and create a whole new era of expanded intelligent health experiences.”

Along with that Galaxy ring, Samsung has also shown off two new foldable phones - the Z Flip6 and Z Fold6. They both get the addition of clever AI along with tougher designs, more power and longer battery life.

These phones are also out later this month.
