Sky confirms return of iconic channel and the exact date it will arrive on your TV (original) (raw)

Sky has annoucned that one of its beloved channels is returning soon.

In a surprise move, Sky has just announced the return of one of its much-loved channels. The hugely popular Sky One platform will return to screens later this month after being shut down back in 2021. The telly firm says the relaunch will offer viewers unmissable comedy and entertainment programmes, including new shows The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.

Favourites like Rob & Romesh Vs.., The Paper and Ted will also be available via the service which will take up residence on channel 106. Sky One will also host Saturday Night Live UK, launching later this year.

The relaunched channel replaces Sky Showcase and Sky Max, bringing together a rich slate of entertainment in one place, making it easier than ever for viewers to find must-watch telly.

"Our goal is to make it easier than ever for Sky TV customers to find and enjoy the shows they love,” said Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV & NOW.

“Building on the iconic heritage of Sky One, the channel will be a one-of-a-kind destination that’s big, bold and bursting with energy, bringing together brand-new Sky Originals like The Dyers’ Caravan Park, returning favourites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., and serving as the home of the highly anticipated Saturday Night Live UK."

So when can you access it? Sky One launches on channel 106 on Tuesday, 24 February.

News of this channel update comes as Sky recently confirmed it's also holding a major event this month.

In an invitation sent to Mirror Online, the company teased: “Big things are coming to Sky TV. Join us to find out more.”

The wording certainly sounds intriguing, and it should be an exciting time for those with this service in their homes. Sky typically only hosts in-person launch events when it has something significant to reveal, so speculation is already building about what might be unveiled.

Mirror Online will be attending the event in London's West End and will bring live updates as the news breaks. The announcement is expected to begin at around 10am on February 11.
