Viewers tuning into Emmerdale on Thursday night learned Moira Dingle's fate, but a deadly twist soon revealed what was wrong with the fan favourite.

Fans of the ITV soap know that she's been acting out of character recently, with mood swings, outbursts and she's been suffering from seizures and funny turns. Her trance-like behaviour led to her causing a fire at the barn this week leaving lives on the line, with her convinced she was face-to-face with former nemesis Emma Barton.

While all characters caught up in the blaze appeared to survive the blast, it was scenes at the hospital that revealed danger ahead for one resident. Moira was given a possible diagnosis, with it finally revealed what was wrong with her and what was likely causing her behaviour and health issues.

While no specific diagnosis was given, doctors warned Moira she had a mass on her brain and it was creating pressure. It was this pressure on the brain that was seemingly behind everything going on.

Moira soon made a death confession as she faced a potentially deadly diagnosis, with her husband Cain Dingle fearing the worst. She told him she didn't want to die as she sobbed, fearing her children would grow up without their mother.

At the hospital Cain still refused to believe Moira when she insisted she and his son Nate Robinson were not having an affair. She kept trying to tell him something was wrong with her, but it wasn't until she suffered another seizure in front of him that he realised the truth.

Moira under went scans on her brain, with an abnormality soon detected. After some news from the doctor, she soon told Cain that a mass had been detected on her brain which was behind all the symptoms.

Cain told her she was going nowhere as she shared her fears she would die, awaiting more news on her condition. Viewers were left fearing the village favourite would be killed off in tragic scenes, as Moira and Cain vowed to unite to get through their latest battle - but will Moira be okay?
