Gogglebox sparks outrage as nude scenes from new X-rated dating show aired

Gogglebox fans were in for the shock of their lives as they tuned into the show only to be greeted with naked bodies.

The popular Channel 4 show, which has the stars tune in to the week's latest shows and news, aired scenes from Rylan Clark's brand-new reality dating show, Dating Naked. The new show has 10 singles take off all their clothes to enter a niche dating experience. All while unclothed, they got to know each other in hopes of finding love.

It came as a shock to both the Gogglebox stars and viewers at home as they witnessed the singletons stripped nude for the show. Fans quickly took to social media to share their shock, with one user writing on X, formerly known as Twitter: "I’ve just looked up from my phone. Erm.. I’m sorry what is this?!"

A second person added: "Ewww no, I don’t like this." One person posted: "Remember when the double entendre on Blind Date was considered a bit raunchy? Jaysus." Another viewer commented: "What the f*** is this on my TV?" Gogglebox brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford hid behind their hands as the scenes aired while husband and wife Dave and Shirley couldn't stop giggling.

Hilarious besties Jenny Newby and Lee Riley were quick to put on their glasses to get a closer look at their screen. Rylan recently had to jump to Dating Naked's defence after it was labelled as "disgraceful". The new series has been released on Paramount+ in August. The TV host compared the programme to Love Island but without bikinis.

He appeared on ITV's This Morning where he said Dating Naked UK is "dating, but laid bare". He also said that the "duty of care is like no other show". 10 single people are looking for romance while on holiday but also they won't have any clothes to cover up. During their time on the show, new people will arrive which will put a spanner in the works for couples who have already got together.

Rylan said: "It is Love Island without the bikinis, that's pretty much what it is, you see everything, there's no strategic placement of the cameras. You see absolutely everything, and all the reviews today from the same reviewers that give me five stars for my last show on BBC Two are like 'This is disgraceful'. You know 'I don't need to see this' but that's exactly what the show is and its dating laid bare."
