BMG Interactive Entertainment was established in 1994 as the multimedia and new technologies division of BMG Entertainment, the 5.1billionentertainmentarmofBertelsmannAG,the5.1 billion entertainment arm of Bertelsmann AG, the 5.1billionentertainmentarmofBertelsmannAG,the13.6 billion worldwide media enterprise. Operating in 42 countries, BMG Entertainment also owned numerous record labels including Arista, Ariola and RCA Records and had significant European television interests. BMG Interactive was categorized in the corporate structure as a trademark of BMG Music.

BMG Interactive was based in New York and had offices in San Francisco and London. Other affiliated divisions were established in France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Singapore and Australia.

The company published, marketed and distributed titles for the PlayStation, Saturn and PC CD-ROM. In May 1996, Mike Suarez was the company's executive producer.

Through acquisition and merger, BMG Interactive eventually became a short-lived publishing label of DMA Design, purchased in 1998 by Take-Two Interactive and then became part of Rockstar Games.
