Stanislaus County is hiring for multiple positions in various departments, including behavioral health, public works and legal services.

Listed county positions provide competitive and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans, for regular full-time employees.

As part of its Employee Choice Bonus Plan, the county is offering a sign-on bonus worth up to $10,000 over three years or 21 extra days of paid leave time for eligible employees hired full-time on or before June 30, 2025.

Here are the latest available positions in Stanislaus County as of Thursday, Jan. 17:

Accountant I/II | Permanent, full time

Several county departments are looking for individuals to fill the position of accountant.

The accountant performs professional-level work in auditing, general, grant and cost accounting, participating in difficult and complex studies for special districts, funds, trusts, agency accounts and travel as necessary.

The position requires assistance in the preparation of county budgets, annual audits, financial statements and internal controls. Additional responsibilities include working as a financial consultant with administrative and program managers.

Behavioral health clinician | Permanent, full time

The behavioral health clinician is responsible for meeting with individuals and groups to assist them in identifying strengths and barriers and developing realistic plans to address them.

The worker also advises clients on available community resources and acts as a liaison and advocate between the client and the persons or agencies involved.

The clinician is tasked with making referrals and other arrangements as assigned; securing the cooperation of relatives in treatment programs and participating in training programs conducted for the benefit of the community.

Chief clinic medical director | Permanent, full time

The chief clinic medical director plays a key role in ensuring that the organization’s mission, goals, and values are supported and implemented by the clinical staff, ensuring that medical practices are in place to support high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient clinical services at the ambulatory care clinic.

The medical diretor oversees and supervises all licensed providers and ensure that the medical program’s clinical goals and measures are met at the clinic.

The chief clinic medical director consults with the medical director and other county leadership to identify program needs, supports and resources.

Deputy county counsel II, III and IV | Permanent, full time

Duties for this position include advising the Stanislaus County Community Services Agency, including all divisions within the agency.

The attorney appears in court and represents the agency in child welfare matters pursuant to welfare and institutions code, onducting legal research as required.

Engineer I, II and III | Permanent, full time

The engineer is assigned routine projects of average complexity and exercises limited judgment and initiative in completing assignments. The complexity of the projects and assignments depends on the classification.

Maintenance engineer III | Permanent, full time

The maintenance engineer supervises a crew of maintenance engineers in the performance of skilled and semi-skilled work involving the operation, maintenance, repair, remodel and minor construction of county buildings, structures and equipment.

This engineer is expected to perform with advanced technical proficiency in several of the following trades or to perform technical supervision over a specialized shop in one of the following trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, and boiler operation and maintenance.

Psychiatrist | Permanent, full time

The psychiatrist is responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, making diagnoses, and prescribing treatment and medications.

Conducting individual, group, and joint family psychotherapy; organizing data concerning patients family, medical history, and onset of symptoms; ordering laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluating data.

The position requires preparing and presenting cases for review by other staff members to participate in staff consultation in diagnosis and determination of treatment programs.

Misdemeanor deputy public defender | Permanent, full time and part time

The misdemeanor deputy public defender collaborates in a small team with others who are assigned to the same courtroom.

The public defender represents clients charged with misdemeanors in all facets of their cases, with each attorney handling a case from its assignment after arraignment through completion.

Deputy public defenders investigate facts, prepare cases and research legal issues as they arise during their representation.

Executive assistant | Permanent, full time

The executive assistant handles highly confidential information and documents with discretion. Information management includes collecting, reviewing and distributing information.

The executive assistant composes, writes, edits and proofreads detailed documents, in addition to monitoring annual compliances and state audits and adhering to appropriate county and commission policies.
