33 Rooms
Badia Hill is a new 4-star boutique hotel in Badia in Alta Badia.
This blazing ode to alpine contemporary design stands on a hill overlooking the Fanes Group, Puez Group, and Val Badia.
Declared the hotel for bon vivants, this eye-catching property stands out with its sumptuous lounge, wine bar, fine dining restaurant, rooftop wellness area, and infinity pool. It’s the ultimate hotel destination for those that love nature as much as food, wine, and whiskey.
Badia Hill is the passion project of Michaela and Marco, a sommelier and chef respectively, who poured six years of love, energy, research, planning, and building into making their vision a reality.

4-Star Superior Hotel in Santa Cristina, Val Gardena
24 Rooms
It’s time to introduce you to our favorite boutique hotel in Val Gardena.
Dorfhotel Beludei is located in the village of Santa Cristina, between Ortisei and Selva. When people visit Val Gardena for the first time, they usually flock to Ortisei. However, Santa Cristina is a more quiet base with easy access to hidden gems like Monte Pic and Baita Seurasas. The trail to both of these destinations starts directly behind the hotel.
With its storybook-chalet design, Dorfhotel Beludei feels effortlessly charming and timeless.
Rooms are spacious and furnished in a Tyrolean-alpine-style with fragrant swiss pine and larch wood hardwood floors and panelling. Many rooms have balcony views of Sassolungo (Langkofel in German).

4. Bad Moos Dolomites Spa Resort
4-Star Superior Hotel in Val Fiscalina, Sesto, South Tyrol
52 Rooms
Bad Moos Dolomites Spa Resort is a spa hotel, located at the entrance of Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal valley. Boasting a 2500 m2 wellness area and its own sulfur source from Val Fiscalina, this wellness hotel is a gift for your mind, body, and soul.
We were enthralled by the extensiveness of the sauna area, which includes a candlelit sulfur grotto filled with 20 waterbeds, a sulfur Kneipp trail, a cold sulfur bath (6.1°C), a steam sauna, organic sauna, Finnish sauna, panoramic sauna, ladies’ sauna, sulfur shower, and multiple relaxation rooms. Guests also have access to an indoor and outdoor pool.
We also loved the location. Both the Carnic Alps and the Sexten Dolomites are easily accessible from Bad Moos. From here, we hiked along the Carnic High Trail and visited the memorable alpine pastures of Klammbachalm and Alpe Nemes.
Why Stay at Bad Moos Dolomites Spa Resort
Mineral-Rich Water for Bathing and Drinking. According to Bad Moos, their mineral-rich water (containing sulphur, fluoride, magnesium, and calcium) is good for your digestive system, musculoskeletal system, and integumentary system. People have been bathing here since 1764, according to records.
Complimentary Afternoon Snack. Each afternoon, there’s a small buffet featuring a daily soup, savory dish, and cakes. Water, Elderflower juice, and coffee is also provided. You can eat the snack in your bathrobe.
Rich, Bountiful Breakfast and Antipasti Buffets. We were blown away by the antipasti buffet, containing no less than 20 different dishes. Additionally, the buffets are always regularly refilled.
Location. Bad Moos is the perfect base for exploring the Sesto/Sexten Dolomites as well as the Carnic Alps.
Excellent Management and Staff. This was one of the most welcoming hotels we’ve stayed at. We were impressed by the attentiveness and passion of the staff.

5. Naturhotel Leitlhof
4-Star Superior Hotel in San Candido, Alta Pusteria, South Tyrol
62 Rooms
There are many excellent accommodations across Alta Pusteria (Hochpustertal in German, Upper Puster Valley in English), but a true stand-out is Naturhotel Leitlhof in San Candido. From the cuisine and wellness area to the mountain views and design, Leitlhof makes a lasting impression. It’s one of the most memorable hotels we’ve stayed in.
Naturhotel Leitlhof is advantageously situated above San Candido/Innichen. San Candido is an ideal place to stay if you want to explore both the Sexten and the Prags Dolomites as well as the Villgraten Mountains and Carnic Alps.
From the hotel’s elevated position, guests have a romantic view of the historic village with its notable steeples at the foot of Haunold mountain. Off to the left, you can also see Dreischusterspitze/Punta tre Scarperi (3145 m), the highest mountain in the Sexten Dolomites, and Gsellknoten/Cima di Sesto (2865 m).
Views aside, the most compelling reason to stay here is the cuisine. Naturhotel Leitlhof sources their vegetables, herbs, and beef from their very own Mühlhof farm, located only a few minutes away from the hotel. That’s probably why each dish explodes with flavor. Everything we tasted was EXCELLENT – the best of the best.
At Naturhotel Leitlhof, dinner is served as a 5-course meal, starting with a salad and antipasti buffet. For the remaining courses, you’ll have an option between two, or three items. Though the dinner menu changes daily, you can also choose from the Leitlhof classics menu as well, which features Pustertaler Schlutzkrapfen and Knödelvariation (as Primi options) and Entrecôte and Grilled Vegetables with Toblacher Stangenkäse cheese (as Secondi options).
Each night, the dinner menu is unique. On our first night, the menu featured Tirolean classics. On our second night, the menu highlighted Italian favorites Spaghetti nach Amatriciana Art and Aubergine alla Parmigiana mit Burrata (primi options).

Other Considerations
When we visited, the dining staff was very new, and it was obvious that they didn’t work as a team. We could overlook it, because the food was just so damn great. But, I hope that with a little more time, the dining staff syncs and is more attentive.
Vegans can request a vegan menu for dinner. Let the reception know you’d like a vegan menu when you check-in.

9. My Arbor
5-Star Hotel in San Leonardo, Brixen, South Tyrol
104 Suites
My Arbor – Plose Wellness Hotel is an adults-only, spa hotel nestled in the South Tyrolean mountains, high above Bressanone/Brixen.
Though technically located just a smidge outside of the Dolomites, we couldn’t resist adding My Arbor to this hotel guide. We recommend staying in this treetop sanctuary before, or after your trip to the Dolomites.
Standing on stilts, this striking tree hotel delivers a 5-star experience on every level: visual, experiential, culinary, wellness, etc.
All rooms at My Arbor face west (or southwest), overlooking the Eisacktal valley and the Sarntal Alps. That means that no matter where you stay in the hotel, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Eisack valley and surrounding mountains from your room and your balcony.

10. Hotel Dolomitenhof
4-Star Hotel in Val Fiscalina, Sesto, South Tyrol
30 Rooms
Hotel Dolomitenhof is a historic, 4-star hotel in Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal, a 4.5 km long side valley of Sesto/Sexten valley. In 1905, Sepp Innerkofler (Sesto’s famous mountaineer) opened the Dolomitenhof. Today, the hotel is managed by the 4th generation of the Innerkofler family.
Surrounded only by meadows and forest, Hotel Dolomitenhof has unobstructed views of the highest peaks of the Sesto/Sexten Dolomites, including Einserkofel (Cima Uno), Oberbachernspitzen (Croda Fiscaline), and Zwölferkofel (Croda di Toni).
Val Fiscalina is one of the dreamiest gateways into the Sesto/Sexten Dolomites. Directly from the hotel, you have many notable destinations within reach, including Tre Cime di Lavaredo/Drei Zinnen peaks (3 hours one-way) and the Prati di Croda Rossa/Rotwandwiesen meadows (1 hour one-way).
It’s a luxury to be able to arrive at your hotel, knowing that for the next few days, you don’t need to drive or take a bus to start hiking.
Why Stay in Hotel Dolomitenhof
Heavenly Mountain Views. The hotel faces Einserkofel (Cima Uno), Oberbachernspitzen (Croda Fiscaline), Zwölferkofel (Croda di Toni), Dreischusterspitze (Punta Tre Scarperi), and Gsellknoten (Monte Casella).
No Car Needed. The hotel is located across the road from the Fischleintalboden hut, parking lot, and bus stop. With its advantageous location, you don’t need to drive anywhere. Leave your car in the hotel parking lot, and spend the next few days hiking and walking directly from the hotel.
Panorama Relaxation Garden and Indoor-Outdoor Pool. The outdoor pool is surrounded by a green lawn, directly facing the meadow and the northern face of the Sexten Sundial. Lounge chairs are spread out spaciously across the lawn, creating the optimal environment for relaxation and reading.
Modern Sauna Area (“Bathhouse”). The sauna area encompasses 4 saunas and two cold plunge pools, perfect for cooling off after a sauna session.
Local and Seasonal Ingredients. The hotel sources their ingredients (as much as possible) from local farms and alpine pastures. At breakfast, you’ll see exactly where your eggs, cheese, butter, etc.. come from. Dinner courses, made using local ingredients, are marked with a green farmer icon.
Quick and Efficient Dining Staff. We’ve stayed in hotels where multiple course dinners drag on forever, because the staff is either uncoordinated, or frazzled. Not here. We were so impressed by how the staff impeccably delivered multiple courses, at each tables’ specified pace.
Other Considerations
Hotel Dolomitenhof aims to create a quiet and peaceful oasis in the mountains for their guests. Though this isn’t an explicitly adults-only hotel, we don’t recommend staying here with children.
Hotel Dolomitenhof has a minimum stay. During high season (July & August), the minimum stay is 6-7 days. During low season (June, September, October), the minimum stay is 3-4 days.
They can easily accommodate vegetarians, but unfortunately not vegans.
Hotel Dolomitenhof Summer Activities

4-Star Hotel in Canazei, Val di Fassa
20 Rooms
Locanda Degli Artisti Art Hotel is a zero-emissions, boutique hotel in the village of Canazei (Cianacei in Ladin) in Val di Fassa.
As its name suggests, Locanda Degli Artisti Art Hotel is an ode to art. Original paintings, drawings, and sculptures tastefully adorn every area of the hotel, including each bedroom. It’s essentially a living art gallery.
We relished the hotel’s eclectic interiors, innovative Ladin cuisine, and professional yet approachable staff.
Rooms are immaculate, featuring hardwood floors, comfy beds with billowy bedding and stylish bathrooms with vertical tiling and oval-shaped showers. Some rooms are furnished with standing whirlpool bathtubs, infrared saunas, steam baths, and/or steam fireplaces.
The hotel atmosphere is casual and laid-back, in part because the on-site restaurant and bar is a local gathering place, open to everyone (not just hotel guests).

12. Hotel Col Alto
4 Star-Hotel in Corvara, Alta Badia, South Tyrol
Hotel Col Alto is located in the middle of Corvara in Val Badia facing Sassongher. With its rustic, yet elegant alpine-modern design, Hotel Col Alto invites you to savor your time in the Dolomites inside as much as outside. Upon arriving, you’ll feel instantly taken care of. Though Col Alto is a fine hotel, it never feels rigid or stiff.
Our favorite part about staying in Hotel Col Alto is their extensive spa and wellness area. All of the best Dolomites hotels can boast two saunas. However, Hotel Col Alto stands out with its five saunas, footbath, waterbeds, relaxation rooms, ice fountain, indoor pool, whirlpool, and Kneipp course. No one wants bad weather during their vacation, but if you’re staying here, poor weather isn’t unwelcome.
Why Stay in Hotel Col Alto
1000m2 Wellness Area.
Extremely Helpful Receptionists. Whether we needed laundry done in a hurry, or help figuring out where to hike, the receptionists accommodated all of our requests efficiently and kindly. Their competence and knowledge can’t be overstated.
Public Transit Friendly. Hotel Col Alto is located directly at the Corvara Strada Col Alto bus stop, so it’s easy to get around Alta Badia and South Tyrol without a car.
Culinary Wonders. Dinner is served in four courses with an impressive salad buffet. Once a week, guests are treated to a Ladin meal and a dessert buffet. We didn’t experience the Ladin-themed dinner, but we certainly relished the dessert extravaganza.
Inviting Communal Spaces. Whether you want to read by the fire or have a drink at the bar, there are plenty of spaces to unwind after a day of hiking, or skiing.

Things to Know about Staying in Dolomites Hotels
Badia Hill in Alta Badia
1. Many hotels in the Dolomites require a minimum stay of three to five nights, especially during high season.
2. The best Dolomites hotels are concentrated in the Italian province of South Tyrol.
3. Many hotels offer half board, where breakfast and dinner are included in the rate. If you’re traveling in shoulder-season/off-season, we highly recommend choosing a hotel with an on-site restaurant, or half-board offering.
- Wellness and spa areas are almost always included. In our experience, you never have to pay an additional fee to use the hotel’s wellness area (saunas, pool, etc…).
5. Sauna areas are generally textile-free zones for adults only. Do not wear a bathing suit into the sauna. In dry saunas, make sure your body doesn’t touch the wood. Always place a towel beneath you. This is the most hygienic way “to sauna.”
6. Many Dolomites hotels offer exclusive hiking and biking tours for their guests. Most of these tours will be complimentary, though you may need to pay a fee, if there’s any extra equipment involved, etc…
7. There are Adults-Only hotels across the Dolomites. Here are some notable ones:
