With LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition) around the corner (21 to 25 March 2017), getting a hotel room in Langkawi island may be a little tricky, especially at the last minute. There are still rooms available, last I checked (13/3).

Info: You need not necessary stay in Kuah town and a hotel near the airport and exhibition center may be good as it is nearer to where all the aerial action is. Kuah town isn’t bad either, if you can still get a room, as it is near to food and duty free shopping places.

The hotels near the popular beach, like Pantai Cenang, may be more expensive but it is nearer to the Maritime exhibition on the sea. Good thing is Agoda’s real time connection shows status of available rooms and many hotels are now showing last few rooms available.
