Fire crews contained a small brush fire near a Contra Costa County neighborhood Wednesday evening, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Gia Vang reports.

Fire crews contained a small brush fire near a Contra Costa County neighborhood Wednesday evening, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

Fire officials said the fire occurred in a neighborhood near Concord at around 7:45 p.m. Authorities said some homes were threatened at some point, but crews were setting up to protect them, especially those near Butternut Way.

Firefighters said

Officials said the fire grew up to 2 acres, and it had a slow rate of speed before it was contained. Fire officials added no homes were burned.
