New Journal Sections (original) (raw)
As we enter the new year, The Journal of Neuroscience is splitting the Behavioral/Systems/Cognitive section into Behavioral/Cognitive and Systems/Circuits. The last time The Journal revised its sections was in 2004, when the Neurobiology of Disease section was launched to accommodate the growing number of papers related to neurological disease. Neurobiology of Disease has since become one of the mainstays of The Journal. Growth of The Journal now calls for further change. The Behavioral/Systems/Cognitive section has grown far larger than other sections, and dividing it will leave The Journal with five roughly comparable sections. As before, authors can choose a section at the time of initial submission.
At this time, we also thank the many reviewers whose expertise and effort is so important for maintaining the quality of The Journal, particularly those exceptionally dedicated frequent reviewers who have provided five or more reviews during the past year. We extend special thanks to the editors who completed their terms in 2012: Senior Editors Marie Filbin, Earl Miller, and Marina Picciotto; Reviewing Editors Deanna Benson, Timothy Ebner, Joel Elmquist, Takao Hensch, Robert H. Miller, David Perkel, and Jane Taylor; and many Associate Editors. The expertise and dedication of the editorial board is key to The Journal's success.
