ALL TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS ARE DISCONTINUED. INTERESTS SHOULD MAINTAIN PRECAUTIONS UNTIL WINDS AND SEAS SUBSIDE.

AT 5 AM EDT...0900Z...THE CENTER OF THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION DENNIS WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 35.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 78.1 WEST OR ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ROCKY MOUNT NORTH CAROLINA.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH AND A GRADUAL TURN TOWARD THE NORTH IS EXPECTED IN THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. CONTINUED SLOW WEAKENING IS LIKELY TODAY.

ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 990 MB...29.23 INCHES.

STORM SURGE FLOODING AND WAVES ALONG THE COAST AND INLAND BAYS AND SOUNDS WILL BE GRADUALLY DECREASING TODAY.

RAINFALL TOTALS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ...ARE LIKELY ALONG THE PATH OF DENNIS. SEE STATEMENTS FROM LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICES FOR FLASH FLOOD WATCHES AND WARNINGS.
