A green flat leaf variety, similar to Briton type in size and shape but leaves are medium green with a pink tinge undersides. Flavour is stronger than standard green shiso. The flowers are an ideal addition to salads and Asian dishes. Ideal with fish, rice, cucumbers and noodles. It has a minty, basil like flavour with a hint of clove and cumin. Harvest leaves when plants are established. Germination 14 to 21 days Days to maturity 80-85 days Height 45-75cm Annual Perilla frutescens.
