Biometric Technologies Group (original) (raw)

Biometric technologies are integral to the nation and their impact will only increase as needs and capabilities continue to evolve. The Image Group researches, develops, and applies measurement, benchmarking and evaluation methods, metrics, best practices, and standards to advance and promote the use of image-based biometric technologies and tools for human identity. The Group works closely with other government agencies, law enforcement, industry, and academia to support needs in the biometrics community. Our biometric programs promote accuracy and interoperability that support the governmentwide effort to collect superior quality biometric data, ensure the data collected is shareable between agencies, and that biometric systems are accurate.
