Ozzy Osbourne to apologise for drunkenly urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph in 1982 (original) (raw)

Ozzy Osbourne is reportedly planning on returning to Texas to apologise for an infamous incident that happened in 1982 when he was arrested for urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph.

Osbourne is alleged to have drunkenly urinated on the monument in San Antonio while wearing a dress belonging to his future wife Sharon, who had hidden all his clothes so he couldn’t go outside.

The Alamo Cenotaph is a memorial in honour of those who died during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Following the arrest, Osbourne was banned from the city for a decade.

According to various reports, including MySanAntonio.com, the Black Sabbath singer will visit the monument with son Jack and a film crew today to record a segment for their new show on the History channel.

“We did get a call,” District 1 Councilman Roberto Treviño is quoted as saying. “Certainly, as a city, we feel very, very good about his efforts to come to our great city and apologise for the actions of a not-so-sober person.”

Meanwhile, Osbourne recently confirmed that Black Sabbath will not record a final album, citing their age as a factor.

Osbourne had previously stated that the band would record “one more album” with producer Rick Rubin, having returned to the group to release ’13’ in 2013.

The heavy metal band’s 19th album topped the UK and the US charts and earned the group a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.

With reports recently suggested that the band have “opted against” recording a new LP, Osbourne has now confirmed that they will embark on a farewell tour instead.

“I’m not saying I won’t ever get on stage with Geezer or Tony or any of them again, but officially, as Sabbath, we’re done, and I’ll go back to doing my own thing,” Osbourne said recently, according to Digital Spy.

He added: “We were gonna do one [another album] before the tour, but it would take three or four years to write and record an album, by which time I’ll be fucking 73 or 72 or something, so we decided just to do a farewell tour.”

The band’s forthcoming ‘The End’ tour was recently announced. Black Sabbath will headline Download Festival in 2016, alongside Iron Maiden.
