The New York Herald Tribune (original) (raw)

The New York Herald Tribune

NEWSPAPER

The New York Tribune acquired The New York Herald, forming the hybrid The New York Herald Tribune. In 1966, the New York City branch of the paper became defunct, and in 1967 The New York Times and The Washington Post each acquired 30% shares in the European branch, renaming it The International Herald Tribune. The two companies controlled the paper jointly after 1991, with the Post selling its share to the Times in 2003.
