Australian Charts: Dean Lewis 'Be Alright' Is No 1 For 4th Week - Noise11.com (original) (raw)

It’s a fourth consecutive week at No.1 for local singer and songwriter Dean Lewis with his track “Be Alright”, which is now 2x▲Platinum in sales.

The song “Be Alright” by staying for a fourth week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart becomes the equal fourth longest running No.1 song of the year, tying with its predecessor “In My Feelings” by Drake which also logged four weeks at the top, while if “Be Alright” stays for another week it will tie with the first chart-topper of the year in “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran (5 weeks during 2018, 8 in total), while it is currently halfway along from the 5 Seconds of Summer No.1 song “Youngblood” (8 wks) and the leader for the year is “God’s Plan” by Drake (11 wks).

The current New Zealand No.1 song (third week there) for Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid is again the No.2 song here in Australia (#1 on the streaming chart though) for a third week in that spot, while climbing three places to a new peak of No.3 is “Shotgun” by George Ezra which is newly certified ▲Platinum in sales and is also now his highest charted single here, beating the No.5 peak of his first chart entry “Budapest” (Aug 2014).

Ten of the twelve sung tracks from the new surprise Eminem album “Kamikaze” enter within the Top 50 this week (the two skits on the album did not chart), and coming in at No.4 is track #3 “Lucky You” featuring guest vocals from Joyner Lucas (rapper born Gary Lucas) and following right behind at No.5 is “The Ringer” which contains a sample of “Ooouuu” by Young M.A., and by entering within the ten they become his 19th and 20th Top 10 hits in Australia (and 17th and 18th Top 5 hits also).

Falling three places to No.6 are 5 Seconds of Summer with “Youngblood”, which logs an eighteenth week within the Top 10, the last song to crack 18 weeks (only) was “Starboy” by The Weeknd in 2016/17, while the returning to No.1 Canadian song (5th week now) for Maroon 5 with Cardi B and “Girls Like You” is also down three spots to land at No.7. Panic! at the Disco’s first ever Top 10 here logs a fourth week within the ten as “High Hopes” is on hold at No.8, while also sliding down are Drake with “In My Feelings” (8th wk at #1 in the U.S.A.), down four to No.9 and “No Brainer” for DJ Khaled with Justin Bieber, drown three places to No.10 and newly certified ▲Platinum in sales too.

UP:
* The new English and Irish No.1 song for Calvin Harris with Sam Smith and “Promises” is up two spots here to a new peak of No.12.
* Scoring his fourth Top 20 hit in Australia is mystery DJ Marshmello with Bastille and their track “Happier”, which is up six spots to a new chart height of No.19.
* Loud Luxury jumped seven spots last week with “Body”, this week it is up one spot to No.32.
* Last week the latest Imagine Dragons track “Natural” (HP-55) returned to the chart at No.69, and this week it rebounds eleven spots to No.58.
* LSD (Labrinth, Sia and Diplo) return to their former peak of No.69 with “Thunderclouds”, back up eight spots this week.
* Last weeks entry for Tom Walker and “Leave a Light On” rises two spots to a new peak of No.71.
* The second studio album for Troye Sivan debuts at No.3 this week and his former entries from the album return in “My My My!” at No.85 and his Ariana Grande duet “Dance to This” at No.87.
* Returning to the chart at No.97 is current national tourist here Vance Joy with his breakout hit “Riptide” at No.97, which reclaims its crown for ‘Longest Charted Song’ at 125 weeks.

DOWN:
* The two songs leaving the Top 10 this week are “Rise” for Jonas Blue (HP-8, WI10-3a) which is down two places to No.11 and “God is a Woman” for Ariana Grande (HP-5, WI10-5a), falling six spots to No.16, while she also slides down with “Breathin” (11 to 18), “No Tears Left to Cry” (31 to 42), and leaves chart with “Everytime” (#60, highest dropout) and “Sweetener” (#70).
* The Travis Scott and Drake track “Sicko Mode” falls four places to No.17 and is now certified Gold (●) in sales, while Travis takes a bigger tumble with “Stargazing” (57 to 83), with Drake falling with “God’s Plan” (45 to 57), “Nonstop” (47 to 61) and “Nice for What” (46 to 63).
* Martinx Garrix and Khalid are down one spot to No.20 with “Ocean” which is now ▲Platinum, while Martin’s newer entry “High on Life” with Bonn is down eleven spots to No.94. Khalid drops with “Lovely” with Billie Eilish (36 to 45), “Love Lies” with Normani (52 to 65) and “OTW” (61 to 74) with Ty Dolla $ign.
* Tiesto and Dzeko with Post Malone and their collaboration “Jackie Chan” drops down nine spots to No.24, while Post is also on the decline with “Better Now” (22 to 30), “Psycho” (49 to 64), “Rockstar” (56 to 67) and “I Fall Apart” (59 to 70).
* Juice WRLD drops nine spots to No.26 with “Lucid Dreams”, which the Dennis Lloyd song “Nevermind” drops down eleven places to No.27.
