Hip hop superstar Jay-Z has made his back catalogue available to Spotify after two years away from the streaming giant.
The rapper took his music off the popular service when he launched his own competitor Tidal in an effort to entice subscribers. Over this time albums have intermittently been available on other services, including Apple Music, but never Spotify.
Jay-Z hasn’t drawn attention to the emergence yet, but the return was announced via a tweet from Spotify that said “Happy birthday, Hov. Welcome back to Spotify.”.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, turned 50 on December 4, 2019. He has been a defining force in 21st century hip hop with hits like Encore, 99 Problems, Empire State Of Mind and Izzo (H.O.V.A.). He has been a part of some legendary collaborations including his future wife Beyonce and long-time collaborator Kanye West.
