Promoter Michael Chugg has already hinted to Noise11.com that Billy Thorpe will definitely be in the room “along the lines of what they did at Coachella with Tupac” so we assume that a Thorpe hologram may be the big surprise at the show.

Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss has been tapped to perform the tribute to the late Billy Thorpe who headlined the original show with both his original Aztecs and then the Sunbury Aztecs a decade ago.

The new Long Way To The Top has been updated with 80s acts with Mi-Sex, Dragon and Noiseworks bringing the era of the show ahead by 10 years.

Doug Parkinson will also make his capital city Long Way To The Top debut on this tour.

Returning acts include Col Joye, Marcia Hines, John Paul Young, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, Glenn Shorrock representing his bands Twilights, Axiom and Little River Band, Jim Keays of the Masters Apprentices, Dinah Lee, Little Patti, Lucky Starr, Spectrum and Chain.

Head here for tickets.

Long Way To The top dates are:

October 5, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
October 6, Sydney, Entertainment Centre
October 9, Newcastle, Entertainment Centre
October 12, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
