Sam Smith Hints At James Bond Spectre Theme Song - Noise11.com (original) (raw)

Sam Smith has fuelled speculation that he has recorded the theme tune to James Bond film Spectre.

The 23-year-old has been linked to the project for months. Despite previously denying any involvement, Sam posted a photograph online on Monday that seemed to say something completely different.

James Bond SpectreWhile he didn’t caption the shot, the black and white image he uploaded to Twitter featured a close up of his hand wearing a silver ring. In the centre of the band was an engraving of the Spectre logo, which is an ominous octopus symbol, giving the biggest hint yet that he’s involved.

The film’s director Sam Mendes revealed back in July that the song was finished and that fans would hear it ‘very soon’.

‘I can say that the song’s been recorded and it’s fantastic and I’m very excited about it. You won’t have to wait long,’ he said, according to British newspaper Metro.

Sam’s name wasn’t the only one linked to the track. Ellie Goulding was also named as a contender to record the song as was British band Radiohead.

Previous artists to record a Bond theme include Adele, who won an Oscar for Skyfall, as well as Sir Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra and Tina Turner.

Daniel Craig is returning to the 007 role once again, although he admitted to the British edition of Esquire that it may be his last outing as the secret agent.

‘I really don’t know,’ the 47-year-old told the publication about whether he’ll return to the role or not. ‘Honestly. I’m not trying to be coy. At the moment I can’t even conceive it.”
