Save The Sando Commonwealth Bank Protest This Tuesday - Noise11.com (original) (raw)

The Australian music industry, fans and supporters including former members of AC/DC, The Angels and The Choirboys, will protest against the Commonwealth Bank in support of the Sandringham Hotel tomorrow to try and Save The Sando.

Save The Sando Save The Sando

The Commonwealth Bank is forcing the Sando out of business by raising the monthly mortgage on the venue from 14,000to14,000 to 14,000to48,000 a month, the only way out for them would be a mortgage loan.

The Sando was formerly with now defunct Western Australian band BankWest which has now been taken over by the Commonwealth Bank.

Mark Evans (AC/DC), Mark Gable (Choirboys) and Doc Neeson (The Angels) will play from the back of a truck tomorrow outside the Commonwealth Bank’s HQ in Martin Place Sydney.

Last month, the musicians joined fans at The Sando for a combined singalong to the classic “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again” letting the Commonwealth Bank know clearly that it could “get fucked, fuck off”.

Speakers will also talk about the destruction of the venue’s business brought on by the Commonwealth Bank’s actions while the bank is in the middle of a class action suit from 500 other businesses who have suffered a similar fate.

For tomorrow’s (September 18) event, gather outside the Commonwealth Bank at 3:45pm for a 4pm start. This event has been approved by local council and police have been informed that it will be taking place.
