Seth MacFarlane is obviously a huge Queen fan, so much so that the Queen classic ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ has now been referenced three times across two of his shows.

In a recent episode Stewie and Brian are in London as Sherlock Holmes and Watson. It was the perfect set-up for the Queen line when a paperboy yells out the headline “Crown Jewels Stolen – Another one bites the dust says Queen”.

Family Guy first referenced the song in a 2009 episode.

McFarlane did it first 10 years ago in an episode of American Dad.

When Queen released ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ in 1980 Seth MacFarlane was seven years old.

‘Another One Bites The Dust’ was written by Queen bass player John Deacon who says the bass line was inspired by Nile Rodgers’ band Chic. Queen had been hanging out with Chic in the studio months earlier.

The song appeared on the eighth Queen album ‘The Game’. It was the fourth single off the album and wasn’t considered as a single until Michael Jackson recommended to Freddie Mercury that it would be a stand-alone hit.

Fun fact: Christian evangelists accused Queen of playing the hidden message ‘decide to smoke marijuana, it’s fun to smoke marijuana, start to smoke marijuana’ in the song when played backwards.
