WASHINGTON — President Trump nominated a former Alabama disaster relief manager on Friday to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The nominee, Brock Long, led the Alabama Emergency Management Agency from 2008 to 2011, where he worked on the state’s response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and numerous other natural disasters.
He has also worked as an emergency management official in Georgia.
Mr. Long is currently executive vice president for Hagerty Consulting, an emergency management firm based in Illinois.
The position of FEMA administrator requires Senate confirmation.
