How to watch the 2026 Men’s World Cup: TV, streaming, full schedule for all 104 matches (original) (raw)

The Athletic has live coverage of the latest 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup news.

High on hype and rich in conflict, the 2026 Men’s World Cup is upon us at long last. This year’s tournament unfolds across 16 host cities, 48 national teams and 104 matches. The competition comprises both familiar luminaries like Lionel Messi and ascending superstars like Lamine Yamal.

Messi and Argentina arrive as reigning champions after besting France in the 2022 finale, an all-timer that went down to a penalty shootout. Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé lead a formidable French side on a mission for redemption.

Elsewhere, Yamal’s Spain comes in on the heels of a Euro 2024 title, while Harry Kane, Declan Rice and England pursue their first World Cup triumph since 1966. And Brazil, the tournament’s winningest side as five-time champs, is decidedly in the mix with Vinícius Jr. and Raphinha in tow.

The tournament kicks off with two matches per day on June 11 and 12, then four daily fixtures from June 13-23. Six-match days begin June 24, and run through June 27.

World Cup rounds are blocked out like this:

U.S. viewers can watch all World Cup matches on Fubo (Stream Free Now).

The World Cup on Fox, FS1 and Tubi

Fox is the network home for U.S. audiences with all 104 matches — 72 on broadcast television and 32 on FS1. The entire slate streams with a subscription to the Fox One app. A total of 40 matches air in primetime.

FS1 has 30 telecasts in the group stage and two in the round of 32. Everything from the round of 16 through the championship lands on Fox proper. Fox also has all of the U.S. men’s national team matchups.

Tubi, the network-owned streamer, has a few simulcasts this year. It gets the opening ceremonies, Mexico-South Africa on June 11 and United States-Paraguay on June 12.

John Strong is the network’s lead play-by-play voice. He’s flanked by analyst Stu Holden, the retired U.S. midfielder. Another booth features sportscaster Ian Darke and USMNT luminary Landon Donovan. Darke called Donovan’s famous match winner against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup.

Here are the other pairings for play-by-play and match analysis:

There’s an array of accomplished former players on tap as studio personalities. They include Thierry Henry (France), Javier Hernández (Mexico), Zlatan Ibrahimović (Sweden), Peter Schmeichel (Denmark) and Clarence Seedorf (Netherlands). Among the other contributors are presenter Rebecca Lowe and reporter Tom Rinaldi.

For levity, NFL quarterback Jameis Winston serves as a network correspondent. Winston joins former tight end Rob Gronkowski for a weekly Tubi series called “The Other Football.” And James Corden gets an after-hours show on Fox with retired English footballer Rio Ferdinand and comedian Ian Karmel.

Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, LISA, Rema and Tyla are lined up for the June 12 opening ceremony in Los Angeles. There’s corresponding fanfare in Mexico City (June 11) and Toronto (June 12) to cover all three host countries.

Shakira, Madonna and BTS are headlining the World Cup final halftime show on July 19. This is the first halftime concert program in tournament history, and it’s slated to take place on the MetLife Stadium field, which could mean a longer intermission period than soccer’s standard 15-minute break.

How to watch these matches: Fox is free over the air. Tubi requires viewers to be logged in with a free account. FS1 is included with most pay TV providers, though some require an expanded sports package. All matches also stream on the Fox One app, which has plans starting at $19.99/month.

The World Cup on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock

Telemundo and its affiliates have the Spanish-language World Cup broadcasts in the U.S. Andrés Cantor and Luis Omar Tapia are the lead announcers. Carlota Vizmanos and Miguel Gurwitz are the main anchors. The network carries all 104 matches live — 92 on Telemundo and a dozen on Universo.

Some of the many former players joining Telemundo’s coverage are Jozy Altidore (U.S.), Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina), Iván Ramiro Córdoba (Colombia), Nuno Gomes (Portugal), Andrés Guardado (Mexico), Guti (Spain), Carlos Pavón (Honduras) and Iván Zamorano (Chile).

The network’s daily kickoff is called “Hoy en el Mundial,” and its nightly recap is “Todo el Mundial.” Other recurring programs are the on-site pregame show “La Previa” and “El Medio Tiempo,” the halftime breakdown.

Peacock is the U.S. streaming home for all 104 matches in Spanish. Users need Peacock Premium or Premium Plus to access the streams. The app’s hub includes “Visión de Campo,” a multi-angle presentation of the pitch. Every match is also available on the Telemundo app.

How to watch these matches: Telemundo is free over the air. Universo is included in select pay TV packages. Peacock Premium starts at $10.99/month with ads.
