Waynesburg will put out another call for bids on a lot the borough took over after a 2024 fire. At Monday’s monthly meeting, the borough council voted to deny the sole bid of $3,652 by Cassandra Teegarden for the property at 224 Second Ave. That amount was about half what the borough expected after appraisals, said Solicitor Adam Belletti. “We could put in bat boxes and community gardens if we’re going to do that,” said Assistant Manager Bryan Cumberledge. The site has been unused since a residential structure fire in October 2024 that led to the building being torn down.
