Full William Hill Bookmaker Review
There’s no debating that William Hill is one of the best bookmakers in the UK. Being in the top 10 for so many categories is testament to that, and there’s only one bookie in the country that makes more of these lists than Hills.
You can tell from the sports that William Hill is particularly good at – greyhounds, horse racing, darts, snooker etc. – that there is an old school, heritage feel about the brand. They’ve been doing this a long time and doing it well, while being to stay relevant and add new features to their product that perform better than other bookies (think newer additions like cash out and bet builder).
The website could be a bit cleaner – there’s definitely a lot to take in and it can all feel a bit cluttered and difficult to navigate at times. Once you’re used to it and using it regularly you can get past this, however.

This William Hill review was conducted across the desktop and mobile versions of the site, as well as on their app, so will reflect all three platforms. Live in-play betting is available on William Hill, just look for the in-play section of their main menu. The offering is great. There’s some football, tennis and cricket, plus handball and esports. Look a little closer and you’ll find beach volleyball, esports and table tennis. They’ve got most things covered.

The William Hill app does an excellent job in covering all your betting requirements when on the go. As well as the William Hill sportsbook, there is gaming, slots, tables and casino options available, once you have initially downloaded the William Hill app.
The A-Z sports tab was in the right place and the black coloured headers stood out and separated the different sections of the app. The menu was incredibly user-friendly, no whistles or bells, just a list of sports, exactly what you want. The William Hill app didn’t all meld into one, which made finding what you were after simple.
The William Hill app was one of the best apps we tested in the navigation category, in other words everything I was looking for on the William Hill app I found easily. When you are packed in like sardines on a commuter train, or looking to place a bet whilst in the queue for coffee, placing a bet via an app needs to be simple.
The William Hill app could not be faulted for ease of use. Take a look at the carousel of screenshots below, we think you will agree that it looks intuitive, even for novice bettors we expect there would be no issues. The William Hill quick bet facility is a boon, when you select a price on an event a quick slip instantly opens, meaning you can get on in seconds. App users can also set a default start page, where having checked OLBG tipsters football predictions or horse racing predictions you can choose the football or horse racing start page.
William Hill Football Betting
At William Hill, the football odds are pretty good. In addition to that, there are regular promotions, enhanced accas, odds boosts, and more, and these definitely elevate it. There are enhanced odds, identified by the yellow arrow icons dotted about, and as expected, there is a huge variety in global leagues covered on top of the Premier League and major European leagues.

You can obviously use the welcome offer to place football bets, but on top of that there were a couple of football-specific offers that I could find in addition to the bet boosts.
William Hill has daily acca best boosts and daily Build #YourOdds boosts, meaning that most, if not all, days you bet you’ll find ways of upping your odds. There is also a free to play game – correctly predict five questions on a selected match and you’ll get £20 in free bets.
Cash Out
Cash Out is, of course, available at William Hill, and it’s actually one of the best in the country when it comes to this feature. They offer Cash Out (Cash In My Bet) and Partial Cash Out (Partial Cash In My Bet) options for single and multiple bets. Cash Out allows you to secure a profit or minimise losses before settling, while Partial Cash Out lets you cash in part of your bet. Look for the symbols under "Open Bets".

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]
Overall the navigation is a bit cluttered. There’s a lot of information crammed into each page which may be a little disorientating for some, but I never found it hard to find anything and, to be honest, kept seeing little alerts or icons telling me about various things (if there is cash out, price boosts, live streaming etc) that normally you have to hunt around for. You definitely get the sense that people who bet regularly are involved in designing the product.
Placing a bet
This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site.
Placing a bet on William Hill is straightforward with the betslip instantly popping up on the side of your screen on the desktop site. This adds your selection straight into your slip with the speed of placing the bet after clicking it less than a second.
The app is fairly similar to the desktop site with the betslip going at the bottom of your screen as soon as you pick your selection on there. In-play betting will always be slower to place a bet but from the example bets that we did we found that the prices stayed the same for the few seconds it took for the bet to process in-play.
Managing your account
An integral part of any betting site is the account management side of things with the ease of access to various account details always important. Plenty of options are available in the My Account section of William Hill including Bet History, Banking History and overall transactions.

William Hill Responsible Gambling Features
This is an excellent part of the William Hill product. By going to their Responsible Gambling menu in the navigation, you can turn deposit limits on or off, and then obviously set what these limits are. You can also deactivate your account through their Self-Exclusion tool, add a timer to monitor how much time you’re spending betting or take a self-assessment test to monitor your behaviour more closely. Overall, it’s a really good showing.

“Impressive range of markets on display”

Having never really punted with many of the big bookmakers, mainly because at one time they didn't offer the range of markets the new players offered as they attempted to gain their slice of the market. but going back to review William Hill i was more than pleasantly surprised at the range of markets in nearly all sports but in particular some of ny favourites. Each snooker match at the Worlds has 50 or so markets and the boxing (Tyson Fury) has 26 markets. My other betting passion, formula one had a range of short, medium and long time that covered all drivers and constructors in match bets. So there was an opportunity to bet on every aspect of a race, who would win, podium, finish in the points, matches and dnf bets. All in all lots to choose from across the full range of sports. A top betting site. I will be signing up immediately.

Never had a problem with William Hill, they are usually very good prices on the football and offer best odds gaurenteed on horse racing, lots of offers from them too. They regularly have no loss offers on various slots games, so it's always useful to keep a spare £10 in their to take full advantage of some free money. For depositing purposes, I just wish they would lower their minimum deposit to £5 not £10.

“Good and Bad”

I only use William hill for horse racing. Pros - 1. Easy to get started 2. Offer decent prices on horse racing and have many markets with the insure market one of my favourites 3. Never had any problems withdrawing money 4. Can live stream the race for free if you bet at least 1 pound 5. Get a free bet on big events, i don't use them though 6. Customer service is not as bad as some people say Cons - 1. They quite often offer the lowest price on winning horses 2. Most of my bets get transferred to the trader who offers to let me put so much of my original bet on 3. The cash out bet option is pointless as they don't offer much 4. Sometimes slow at getting the prices up for the next day 5. The insure market should be open the day before like the main market 6. They will offer the best price out of all the bookies on horses that don't usually win 3.8 out of 5 stars

“Not the best by far but not the worst bookie”

So The greatest thing you can say about williamhill is the payouts are instant and available to withdraw soon as the win occurs, but other than that williamhill is trash they have so many sports listed like horse racing, cycling, etc , but there will never be any matches even when horse racing is everyday almost, also they don't have itf matches for tennis for prematch and the ones they have live are very few, the limited options is why this is a 3 also if you wanted to avoid a ticket they won't do it if the lines change sometimes but have done it before they can't make their mind up you only use williamhill if you have too and where I live that's one of the better options so I deal with it

Would be nice to have BOG on horse racing odds earlier. WH don't offer BOG till 10am on the day of racing(worst bookie out there) Bet365 the offer BOG the day before. Very poor cash out offers if any offered. The website is not the best to navigate and plenty others preferred. 2 stars for their "fixed" scratch of the day and Bonus Explorer.

I have had payout issues with them and found most of their customer service staff either clueless or rude. Its a shame as i have been gambling with them for 40 years now but have just withdrawn the last of my money from my account today.

“Poor Customer Service”

"I have been a customer with William Hill for around 20 years and recently won a modest amount. However, my payment was suspended, and I was required to verify my identity through their 'live chat' system. This involved uploading photos, but the website repeatedly froze or crashed, making the process extremely frustrating. It took 30 minutes to complete the verification. Despite this, the suspended payment remained unresolved, even though deposits and other payments continued to work normally. I contacted William Hill again, and after another 30-minute session, the original payment was still declined. Strangely, the combined total of the two payments was marked as paid shortly after the live chat, but there was no explanation or apology from them. The communication was minimal, leaving me feeling more like a nuisance than a valued customer."
