The Road Ahead: Good Eats (original) (raw)
There are many elements in my universe that inspire and push my world forward, including food and new culinary experiences. Like the Power 50 honoree, Kirsten Kish, I too blend my vibrant personality and love of style into a passion for fine foods. To be honest, I spend most of my weekends with my boyfriend driving around the streets of Los Angeles in my Genesis G70 trying new restaurants and re-visiting our favorite mainstays.
Want a glimpse into the LA spots that I cruise to on a regular basis? Keep scrolling for all of my "good eats."
This new East Hollywood staple is far more than a "coffee shop," it's a queer-focused community space that not only serves delicious lattes, but also hosts various events and activities for anyone and everyone. The rainbow awning and eclectic interior make you feel, well, at home. You can support this initiative by clicking here. (751 N. Helicopter Drive, East Hollywood, 90029)
If you're looking for the best, low-key Italian-inspired fare in LA, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo's Jon & Vinny's is all you need in well, life. The modern, diner-esque aesthetic is welcoming and comforting combined with the mouthwatering pizza and pasta dishes (the spicy fusilli is legendary). You can't help but indulge. (412 N. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles, 90036)
When we're looking for a fun vibe with delicious apps and craft cocktails (of course, not for the one driving), Tom Tom in West Hollywood is always at the top of the list. The glam Victorian interior (seriously inspires my own decor choices) and the unique bites make this the ultimate weekend hangout. (8931 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, 90069)
Sometimes you just have to live a little--and Salt & Straw (which first originated in Portland before descending upon LA) is the perfect place to do just that. My boyfriend and I can't help but order the largest size possible of the homemade ice cream (don't judge!). The best part? With the revolving assortment of flavors, you always have an excuse to go back on a frequent basis. (240 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90004)
