Outlaw Pro Carp Bait Spotlight: Brilliant Banoffee Produces Amazing Results For Russell Webb

Outlaw Pro’s very own Russell Webb has had a huge amount of success this season thanks to the help of the new and improved Outlaw Pro Bait Range. With successes on both the Banoffee and the Krilla, read on to find out more about the Banoffee range and why you should be using this at this time of year!

Q: What Elements Of The Banoffee Range Do You Use When You Head Out On The Bank And Why?

When it comes to my fishing, I don't like putting a large amount of bait out there. I think it fills them up too much and they are less likely to bite. As a result, I like to use the smaller items within the range like the 12mm Banoffee boilie combined with krush and a few pellets to provide the perfect offering. I would use a small hookbait, a little pop up or whatever will get them to spur on. There's something for everybody in that range, especially at the back end of the year when you might be fishing for the shyer or the fish might be slowing up a little bit, there's something to pick them off. It all depends on what lakes you go to. For instance, if you are going somewhere like Linear, there are quite a few fish in there. If you get a change in the weather, you could be going through quite a lot of bait.

Q: What Would You Recommend For Those Fishing Harder Waters Now That The Weather Has Begun To Change?

Krush in hands

If you're fishing a harder lake with less stock, I would recommend using a white pop up or a Fluoro over a couple of spods of the krush with a bit of pellet. This provides the fish with something light that they can digest quickly whilst being eye-catching enough to draw them in.

Q: What Tips And Tricks Would You Give To Those Looking To Fish In Cooler Weather Conditions?

When it comes to baiting up at this time of the year, it is important to remember that they're not going to fill up on your offering. At this point, they're already full up from coming into that period. You don't need to feed them with the bait you are throwing in, you just need to draw them down there.

One of the ways you can do that and make your bait more appealing is by putting a light offering with an attractant within it. When preparing my bait, I put a bit of glug with the mix to get a nice smell and just draw them into that little bed of bait. One of the flavour options that I have been absolutely loving at the moment is the Banoffee as well as the Krilla. The mix of the two 2mm pellets with the colour of the red in the Krill and the brown in the Banoffee makes for the perfect combination in your solid bags.

Q: How Would You Suggest Making Your PVA Bags More Appealing?

When it comes to dressing up my PVA bags, I tend to put a little bit of krush in there alongside the pellets to give it a few little flecks and make it more eye-catching when in the water and make the perfect parcel of food. This is particularly important at the back end of the year when the fish are not wanting a lot of food. So that solid bag will just pick you a fish off. At this time of year, I'm also using hemp and the Krilla krush alongside the Banoffee. Not loads but just to start getting them onto that sort of feed. This is a little trick I have picked up over the years as I find it just gives it a little fleck as well in your mix.

Q: What Is On Offer In The Outlaw Pro Banoffee Range?

Boost Spray being sprayed into hookbaits

When it comes to the Banoffee range, you've got plenty to choose from that works for all styles of fishing throughout the year. You have got the krush as well as the 2mm and 6mm pellet, you have also got the elements that go with that you know, you have got a nice, thick glug, a nice dip, and the boost spray to boost your hookbaits up. All these can either be used with just this flavour or in conjunction with your other favourite flavour within the range to provide you with the perfect offering regardless of the water or the weather.

Q: Why Is It Important To Choose A Nut-Based Mix At This Time Of Year?

Fluoro Pot

When you're coming into those winter months you want a handful of something that looks a little bit natural, like some crushed tigers or something. Depending on the water that you are fishing, you might not be able to use tigers. If that is the case, you will want to use a nut-based boilie and then fish something eye-catching over the top such as a white the Fluoros pot within the range is perfect for this as all the different colours keep your bait eye-catching whilst being appealing to the fish.

Q: How Would You Recommend Integrating The Sweeter Bait And Making That Transition?

I like trying to weed them into the other side as soon as possible to the other types of bait. As the weather is getting colder, you are more than likely coming off the Krill, so you want to begin integrating something a bit sweeter like the Banoffee. Just little bits of Banoffee help to form that changeover, you're just trying to drift them into it. So, I find it's good to start introducing it before you get too far into the back end of the year just so they're on it, they have had it, and they know what it is. At this point, they're going to feel confident when they find something like that as the smell is something that they have already experienced before. If you take that into your angling. I'm sure it will bring you a few more bites.
