WHAT WE DO
Investing, powered by great technology, intellectual energy and data
We create computational finance systems to find and invest in securities where we believe future price action can be predicted.
Technology powers our performance, transforming ideas into sound investments
Our industry-leading software stack is developed by engineers with an eye for elegance. We take advantage of the latest techniques and languages to stay at the forefront of investing and trading technology.
Academic excellence helps us uncover opportunities
Our researchers are outstanding, with experience and achievements from some of the world’s top universities. This intellectual capability gives us an edge in uncovering new opportunities hidden in complex data.
Data drives our business
We consume vast quantities of financial market information, the majority of which is real-time. Much of our work is data-science driven, and we apply cutting-edge methods to transform data for use in our fast-moving investment systems.
OUR PEOPLE
Passionate, creative people
Our people come from many different walks of life, countries, and cultures. We are free thinkers who relish working together to find enduring solutions to complex problems.
We are rational, curious, and restless for improvements. We ask questions, challenge conventions and test limits. Our people are encouraged to use their initiative and follow their instincts.
Our group has a wealth of experience, accumulated over decades of investing through market cycles and global events. Our teams are small and focused; everybody has an opportunity to make a real impact.
Together, we enjoy tackling issues creatively and with open minds.
ABOUT US
A bicycle repair workshop, academics, and a different approach to investing
Founded in 2000, OxFORD’s original team commenced activities in a former bicycle repair workshop, moments away from the colleges where they previously conducted their academic research.
Over two decades, we have invested heavily in our research facilities, data, computing infrastructure, and software stack.
Now established as one of the global leaders in the field of quantitative investing, our original aim remains unchanged. We harness the skills of talented academics and software engineers to tackle complex problems in finance, in pursuit of superior risk adjusted returns.
Today, we operate from state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of the city, near the University’s numerous centres of excellence. We have close ties with the University, which we actively support.

OUR CULTURE
Our culture is collegiate, and gives individuals freedom to explore and innovate
Our culture combines the best elements of academic research centres and technology companies: freedom to experiment and test ideas, whilst also being results-oriented, focused, and well resourced. The environment is friendly, collaborative, and purposeful.
Individuals have the opportunity to explore new ideas, and to bring new methods to bear.
We take pride in having a stimulating workplace, which encourages creativity and innovation. This results not only from the work we do and the interactions of our people, but also from events we regularly organise. We have presentations at our offices by world renowned academics (including Nobel laureates) and leading figures from public service and industry. We sponsor the Strachey Lectures, Oxford University Computer Science Department’s prestigious lecture series, and its competitive programming teams.
We also like to have fun! Our work is complex and demanding, but there are plenty of opportunities to spend recreational time with colleagues, and discuss new ideas. These include weekly office social events and sports such as ultimate frisbee, summertime cycling, rounders tournaments, regular wine tasting, an annual ski conference in Switzerland, periodic away days, and ‘Hack Weeks’.
Always looking for gifted individuals
We succeed because of our people. Finding outstanding people whom we believe will thrive in this environment – and make positive contributions to our work – is one of the most important things we do.
