Supernatural (original) (raw)
Quick Reference
The ancients had no word for the supernatural any more than they had for nature. All events proceeded from God; some of these events were so contrary to the perceived order of things that they were seen as miracles. In modern Jewish thought, however, the distinction is often made between the natural order as perceived by the senses and the supernatural invasion of that order by spiritual forces (see KAPLAN, SPINOZA, and SPIRITUALISM).
