The Park City Police Department logged at least two recent reports involving circumstances involving the possibility of homelessness.
On Wednesday, June 3, at 9:14 a.m., the police received information from someone on Sidewinder Drive about a person who may have been sleeping in a stairwell. There was nobody at the location at the time of the report to the police, but “there is evidence that someone has been there,” according to public police logs.
On Friday, June 5, at 2:03 p.m., personal belongings and a suitcase were reportedly left in the area of a Main Street building, apparently on the Swede Alley side of the property.
Homelessness is not widespread in Park City, but the police occasionally receive reports that point to that possibility. There are limited resources for the homeless in the community.

On Sunday, June 7, in the 10 p.m. hour, the police stopped several drivers on S.R. 248 or close to the road in suspected speeding cases. In one of the cases, at 10:43 p.m., the driver was traveling at 50 mph, the police said. Public police logs did not provide details about whether the drivers received tickets or warnings.
The police at 5:39 p.m. received a complaint from someone on Sunrise Circle about a tree that was in a neighboring property that was “leaning” onto a fence. The police indicated the report involved a civil issue rather than a suspected criminal one.
An elevator rescue was reported at 1:43 p.m. on Kearns Boulevard. Public police logs did not provide details about the circumstances.
The Police Department at 1:17 p.m. received information about someone riding a bicycle powered by electricity on or just off Lowell Avenue. The police were told the rider was traveling at 50 mph on the street and was seen on trails and in a parking lot.
On Saturday, June 6, at 8:55 p.m., the police were told of a truck and a trailer left on the sidewalk on Homestake Road. The truck and trailer were “causing problems,” the police were told. The person who contacted the agency said the location was close to a residential building.
Two youngsters riding bicycles powered by electricity were seen performing wheelies at 7:52 p.m. on Holiday Ranch Loop Road.
A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 1:54 p.m. at the China Bridge garage. Public police logs did not provide details.
On Friday, June 5, at 10:02 p.m., a police officer pulled over a driver in the area of Kearns Boulevard and Sidewinder Drive after, according to public police logs, the person passed a vehicle by using a left turn lane. The logs did not provide information about whether the driver received a ticket or a warning.
The Police Department at 7:36 p.m. received information from someone indicating they discovered an egg carton that had been “hidden” in a Heber Avenue stairwell. The person who contacted the police said the “entire stairwell was egged multiple times in the past,” according to public police logs. The agency described the circumstances as suspicious.
Someone on Fairway Village Drive reported roofing work was underway at a nearby house at 7:28 p.m. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
The Police Department at 1:03 p.m received information about “a bunch of cones blowing into the road” on S.R. 248. Drivers were “swerving,” the police were told. The police said the cones presented a traffic hazard.
The police at 8:54 a.m. received a complaint about a person who left a vehicle in a way that it was “taking up the whole parking lot” on Park Avenue. There was a truck and a boat, the police were told.
On Thursday, June 4, at 4:41 p.m., someone preparing to make a delivery contacted the Police Department inquiring whether the truck “is allowed to be driven at the address on Hawkeye Place. The vehicle was a “full size semi,” according to public police logs.
The police at 8:08 a.m. received a complaint about water that was “leaking” in a backyard on Comstock Drive. The leak started the night before but was not “flooding the house,” according to public police logs. The Police Department categorized the case as a utility issue.
A rock, described as “large,” was reported in at 6:18 a.m. in a travel lane on S.R. 224 just north of the McPolin Farm. The police said the rock created a traffic hazard.
On Wednesday, June 3, at 7:57 p.m., the police received a complaint about people at the City Park tennis courts “that are blaring music over a speaker.” The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
On Tuesday, June 2, at 1:56 p.m., someone contacted the police indicating they planned to visit the community with what was described as a “small camping trailer.” The person inquired about where to park the vehicle in the downtown area.
On Monday, June 1, at 3:37 p.m., the police received information about a vehicle that was traveling at 108 mph on U.S. 40.
Someone at 2:43 p.m. reported a vehicle, described as a box truck, did not stop at a brake check area on S.R. 224.
