Definition / general
- Broad spectrum cytokeratin marker which stains high and low molecular weight cytokeratins (CK 5, 6, 8, 17 and probably 19)
Uses by pathologists
- Detect micrometastases in lymph nodes (BJU Int 2006;98:70)
- Detect positive margins in Mohs’ surgery (Dermatol Surg. 2003;29:375)
- Double immunostaining with laminin or collagen type IV is useful to detect microinvasion in VIN or CIN (Arch Pathol Lab Med 2005;129:747)
