Pearson’s Developmental Simulations

The decision-making simulations enabling the realistic application of the life span stages in human development. Included within Revel® Child Development and Lifespan Development products.

Supporting student learning around behavioural development

MyVirtuals are developmental, decision-making simulations, offering your students the opportunity to make decisions over the course of a person’s lifetime.

From birth and early childhood, through adolescence, early adulthood and adulthood, the simulations bring key principles and fundamental concepts from theory to life. They also help students foster a deeper understanding of the course of development in humans.

Through the virtual chronological experience of raising a child, MyVirtuals simulations demonstrate essential concepts for a person’s human development across the life span.

A real-world depiction of the concepts and theories of human development

Realistic scenarios address contemporary issues and include a diverse range of side characters. These characters represent the breadth of people we encounter in the real world.

Within each scenario, students choose from a range of responses, and make decisions across the different stages of life. The simulations prompt them to apply developmental principles and find out more about the concepts of life span development.

Just like in the real world, students’ parenting decisions and life choices are combined with environmental and behavioural factors.

At the start of the program, as well as randomly throughout process, your students will take quizzes to determine and shape the development of the virtual character.
