Store-Bought Vegan Chicken Brands We Love | PETA (original) (raw)

Chickens are arguably the most abused animals on the planet. But luckily for them, there are more and more vegan chicken options showing up in supermarkets nationwide. Whether you’re craving chicken wings, nuggets, or a patty, these vegan versions will wow your taste buds—without any of the cruelty.

MorningStar Farms Chik’n

Following talks with PETA, Kellogg’s announced that its entire MorningStar Farms product line would be going vegan by the end of 2023. Some of its current tasty vegan chicken products include Buffalo Chik Patties, Buffalo Wings, Chik’n Nuggets, and BBQ Chik’n Nuggets. Most recently, the brand announced its new Plant-Based Chick’n Fries, which are coated with Pringles crumbs. The Original flavor should be hitting the frozen food section in March, and the Cheddar Cheeze flavor will be coming later in the year. Look for the “vegan” label on products in stores now—and for even more vegan products from MorningStar in the future.

NotChicken

Latin American brand NotCo launched NotMilk and NotBurger in the U.S. and is now expanding into the vegan chicken market with nuggets, chicken burgers, crispy patties, and grilled-style fillets. Its products have made a splash outside the U.S. and have even been included as part of Burger King Chile’s vegan options. Find it at your local Sprouts store.

Dr. Praeger’s

We love Dr. Praeger’s Chick’n Tenders (which come in Classic, Gametime Buffalo, and Grandpa Mel’s BBQ flavors), but the brand also has tasty Original and Buffalo Chick’n sliders we can’t get enough of. Its Chick’n Littles are great for kids, since they are packed with flavor but have hidden veggies for some extra nutrients. That means it’s easy for the whole family to make compassionate choices that help save the lives of intelligent, social chickens!

Beyond Chicken Tenders

Popular Beyond Meat has launched a long-awaited addition to its vegan meat offerings: Beyond Chicken Tenders. These tenders are a crispy, juicy, and animal-free take on a classic—without the suffering. More chickens are raised and killed for food than all other land animals combined, so by creating a vegan chicken option, Beyond Meat is helping to put an end to this senseless violence. Following a successful trial of the tenders at restaurants across the country, including chains like Sarpino’s Pizzeria, Dog Haus, and JAILBIRD, Beyond Chicken Tenders have hit stores. Find out where it’s being sold near you to try it today!

Gardein Ultimate Plant-Based Chick’n

Gardein’s Chick’n Tenders, Chick’n Nuggets, and Chick’n Filets have a crispy coating that’s flavorful enough to eat on its own and perfect when dipped in your favorite sauce.

Daring Foods

Daring Foods makes four flavors of versatile vegan chicken pieces: Original, Original Breaded, Lemon & Herb, and Cajun. The rapidly growing brand even has a celebrity investor—Canadian rapper Drake joined a funding round that will allow Daring Foods to expand to even more retailers. You can currently find its products in Sprouts, Kroger, Costco, and other stores.
