Our Ad With Jaeden Martell Shows What Happens to ‘Outdoor Cats’

You may know actor Jaeden Martell as the star of the spine-chilling horror movie It. Now he’s collabing with PETA to show something even scarier: what happens to cats who are left to roam outdoors, where abusers lurk in the shadows—and in plain sight. Check out our new ad with Jaeden, “Here Kitty, Kitty,” to see just how important it is to keep your cats indoors:

As the vids show, cats who are allowed to wander outside can become victims of violent criminals with cruel intentions. In the ad series, which includes four stories, cats are poisoned, burned, shot, and beaten by heartless neighbors. Here’s the most terrifying part: These stories are based on the most common types of cruelty-to-cats cases in our country. 🙀 PETA gets calls about humans harming felines every single day.

“Outdoor cats” face tons of dangers in addition to the threat of falling victim to _It_-level horrors from humans. They’re more likely to get hit by cars, be attacked by predators, or contract parasites and deadly, incurable illnesses like feline leukemia. Many cats left outside in the winter have even frozen to death. 😿

The outside world is super-dangerous for cats, and we stan Jaeden for using his acting skills to make that point in “Here Kitty, Kitty.” We know that your feline companions mean everything to you and that you’d never want anything scary to happen to them, so take Jaeden’s advice: Keep them indoors! 😻
