Description

Alexander of Argyll, lord of Lorn, makes known that in the presence of his lord, lord Edward, king of England, sovereign lord of the realm of Scotland, he has given and sworn on the Holy Gospels to be firmly bound to him and to save, guard and keep the peace in the Isles. All demands of lands, tenements, castles and all manner of transgressions made between himself and Alexander of the Isles, son of Angus, son of Donald, shall cease and be put to rest. He grants that he will not receive or support any wrongdoer, naming especially Roland, son of Alan, and Duncan, son of Dougal, if they do not wish to be obedient to the said king. He grants and promises with all power to aid Sir John Comyn and Sir James, steward of Scotland, two of the guardians of the realm.
