With the start of spring, many Mainers are gearing up to hide eggs and prep feasts for upcoming celebrations. Whether you’re observing religious holidays this time of year or simply looking to spend time with friends and family, here’s a few local things to do this Easter and Passover season.

GO ON THE HUNT

Brunswick’s ‘best’ easter egg hunt

March 29 on the Brunswick Mall starting at 9 a.m.

This egg hunt presented by Brunswick’s BEST Summer Camp and Riverview Martial Arts kicks off on March 29 with kids 5 and under starting the hunt at 9 a.m. Ages 6-9 can join in starting at 10 a.m., followed by ages 10-12 at 11 a.m.

Spots are expected to fill up, so sign up in advance online!

Meet the Easter Bunny in Harpswell

April 4 at Elijah Kellogg Congregational Church in Harpswell, starting at 10 a.m.

Hop on over to Elijah Kellogg Congregational Church on Harpswell Neck Road for a morning of Easter fun Saturday, April 4. Kids will enjoy an egg hunt, make some fun crafts and even get a visit from the Easter Bunny!

Egg hunt at Pathway Vineyard Brunswick

April 4 at Pathway Vineyard Church in Brunswick, starting at 10 a.m.

Pathway Vineyard Church promises special eggs with exciting prizes at this egg hunt on April 4. Families with kids 0-12 are welcome, and hunts will be organized by age group every 15 minutes.

Sign up online and arrive early so you don’t miss the action.

An extra sweet hunt

April 4 at Wilbur’s of Maine in Freeport, 9-11 a.m.

The Easter Bunny and Wilbur the Moose will both be in attendance at the Wilbur’s of Maine annual egg hunt on April 4. Festivities kick off at 9 a.m. outside the chocolate factory on Lower Main Street. No reservations are required.

Guests will surely want to stop inside and grab some sweet Easter treats to take home while they’re at it!

Also, join Wilbur’s to make Easter “lawns” out of chocolate on March 28.

MEALS AND MORE

Gourmet Passover dinner with Chabad of Brunswick

April 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Chabad of Brunswick is hosting an “upbeat and inspirational Seder” with a gourmet Passover dinner, handmade matzah and kosher wine on the first night of Passover, which falls on April 1.

Reservations are required at JewishBrunswick.com, and the location of the Seder will provided after reservation. Tickets start at 45foroneadultand45 for one adult and 45foroneadultand120 for families. This event is English-friendly and all are welcome.

Easter day brunches

Plenty of Midcoast restaurants are offering special brunch menus for Easter Sunday. Reservations are required for most, so make sure to call ahead! Here’s a few options for your holiday meal.
