Leading for learning, learning to lead.

Recently, Roosevelt Elementary became the first school in Oklahoma to earn the Lighthouse School designation from the Franklin-Covey Foundation, signifying Roosevelt’s successful implementation of the “Leader in Me” program. The recognition capped a multi-year process establishing the program, which is based on Stephen R. Covey’s internationally recognized “7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” and teaches children the value of habits such as independence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Pryor High School has been named a 2016 National School of Character. Both Jefferson Elementary and Lincoln Elementary have been named as 2016 State and National Schools of Character.

All across the Pryor Creek School System, innovative ideas like the “Leader in Me” project are being combined with tested methods of instruction and rich academic and extracurricular offerings in art, athletics, and music. The goal: college and/or career readiness by graduation. Post-graduation, students can choose from an abundance of strategic life paths that begin right at their door, thanks to the proximity of 13 colleges within 80 miles, as well as the excellent availability of jobs at MidAmerica Industrial Park promising both financial and personal rewards.
