Dishonored 2 PS4 day-one patch confirmed - PlayStation Universe (original) (raw)

News

Gamers who have got their hands on early copies of Dishonored 2 have confirmed the hotly anticipated stealth-action sequel requires a day-one patch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Dishonored 2 day-one patch file size confirmed

As reported on Reddit, Dishonored 2’s day-one patch will weigh in at approximately 9.1GB on PS4. The patch notes confirm that the update improves texture streaming, fixes numerous bugs, shadowing quality, reloading time, audio mix, and frame rate performance. Finally, it also implements a mid-mission stats screen and screenshot preview for saved games.

If you are planning on downloading Dishonored 2 PS4 rather than buying it on disc, then the patch will be included in the 48GB download file.

Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the events of the critically acclaimed original, and sees Dunwall thrown into chaos after the Empress is dethroned by an otherworldly usurper. Now an outlaw to society, players must control either Corvo or Emily as they set out to restore the throne, aided by powers granted by the mythical Outsider. Much like the original game, Dishonored 2 allows players to approach the action how they see fit, opting for stealth or all-out action.

As mentioned, players have access to various supernatural powers, although you can reject them if you see fit, allowing you to complete the game without their aid. Dishonored 2 eschews the upgrading system seen in the original and replaces it with a skill tree with multiple paths to take to unlock additional upgrades, with each character possessing their own unique powers as well as shared attacks.

Dishonored is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 11, 2016.
