I have been treating adults and adolescents, ages 16 and older with substance use and mental health conditions for more than 35 years. My counseling approaches depend on assessment of your issues and which type can help you best. I will often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice as we explore what brought you to therapy and then can decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. CBT can help identify how your thoughts and beliefs affect your emotions and behaviors, and help you change them for the better. I am still active in my own recovery for 37 years and am living proof that recovery is possible.

You can expect from me that your “entire self” is welcomed into a space and she will work somatically with what you bring to unpack, patterns to ease out of and the wounded places to be respected, handled with care, and skillful clinical attention and presence provided. I works from a vast framework incorporating traditional clinical practices as well as somatic experiencing, mindfulness and intersectional/social justice models. I practice in integrated modalities of healing. The practice is trauma informed, somatic focused and grounded in Jean Baker Miller's body of work with the Relational Cultural Theory Model.

I specialize in working with young adults and engaged adolescents as they navigate the often complex and challenging process of becoming who they are in a world that can feel chaotic, unpredictable, and anxiety-provoking. Many of the individuals I work with feel caught between their authentic sense of self and the expectations placed on them by family, culture, or society. They may experience anxiety, panic attacks, low motivation, or a sense of disconnection from themselves and others.
