Safeguarding
The Trust is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils and students. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe and secure in their educational environment, and we work diligently to ensure that robust and consistent safeguarding procedures are in place to support students, families, and staff.
Our safeguarding team includes the following key members of staff alongside the Head:
- Mr NH Vyse, Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead (Trust) (SDSL) – nvyse@qegsblackburn.com
- Mrs RJ Cox, Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Trust) – rcox@qegsblackburn.com
- Mrs RM Tattersall, Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Trust) – rtattersall@qegsblackburn.com
- Mrs HL Southworth, Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead (Primary) working in conjunction with Mr NH Vyse – hsouthworth@qegsblackburn.com
- Mrs KL Collins, Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Primary) – kcollins@qegsblackburn.com
- Mr OJ Halliwell, Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Primary)- ohalliwell@qegsblackburn.com
We have comprehensive policies and procedures in place to address all child protection concerns, including those related to radicalisation and extremism. Our safeguarding system ensures that all issues are properly recorded, monitored, and addressed in collaboration with the necessary agencies.
We operate a stringent recruitment and selection process to create a safe environment for all pupils and students, ensuring that all statutory checks, including Enhanced DBS checks, are conducted.
Staff receive safeguarding training appropriate to their responsibilities on an annual basis.
Any concerns regarding pupil/student welfare are passed to the safeguarding team, where trained staff take appropriate action. All concerns are logged and followed up to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Attendance is closely monitored, and any concerns are shared with parents, carers, and external agencies, including Social Care, as necessary. We collaborate closely with external bodies and parents/carers to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils/students.
If you have any concerns regarding the safety of your child, another child at a school in the Trust or a member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Safeguarding Team., who can offer advice and guidance.
Further details can be found in the Child Safeguarding Policy.
