Comanche (1956) (original) (raw)
Review
A star rating of 2 out of 5.
A grim-faced, past-his-prime Dana Andrews stars as a frontier scout sympathetic to the Comanches in this very routine western, allegedly based on fact. It is made interesting by the fact that it introduced glamorous South American star Linda Cristal to an English-speaking audience - she would go on to appear in The Alamo and garner small-screen fame in The High Chapparal. Look out, too, for Henry Brandon (Chief Scar in The Searchers) in the supporting cast. Incidentally, the mint American pressing of this film's soundtrack, featuring the full-colour reproduction poster on its sleeve, is now a much sought-after collectors' item.
