What does it take to become Rainforest Alliance Certified?
It’s not enough for a company to just place our seal on their products—they must prioritize sustainability in their supply chains, starting with the farms they source from.
Our certification is based on the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard, with different requirements for farmers and companies.
Our sourcing methods
Certified ingredients are sourced in two ways, both benefiting farmers:
- Segregated: Certified ingredients are kept separate from non-certified ones throughout the supply chain.
- Mass balance: A method common in sustainability initiatives, ideal for complex supply chains.
