4A Vaucluse Rd, Vaucluse, has expectations of $22 million

THE offers are rolling in on a $22 million home at Vaucluse Rd, Vaucluse, amid rumours that former FAI chief executive Rodney Adler is selling up in Olola Ave. And there’s been another double-digit listing a few suburbs along at Point Piper.

Paul Rich, of Richs Double Bay, is selling the six-bedroom home at 4A Vaucluse Rd owned by Hong Kong-based couple Rosemary and Desmond Inglis.

“I’ve had offers approaching an acceptable level, with local, Chinese and international interest,” Mr Rich said of the home on a rare 1031 sqm block within the family for 45 years.

He said Chinese interest was strong in Vaucluse, with neighbouring harbourfront reserve homes in Carrara Rd homes selling for 31millionand31 million and 31millionand24 million recently.

“There’s more wealth coming into Sydney, especially from China, wanting those ‘good luck’ properties, close to the water with great views,” Mr Rich said.

And it looks like Mr Adler and his wife, Lindy, are looking to capitalise on the recent string of good sales in their neighbourhood, abandoning plans for a $5 million-plus addition to their Olola Ave home.

The real estate rumour mill indicates another big double-digit listing on the harbourfront this week — the Wunulla Rd, Point Piper home of hotelier Ben May and his wife Lucy.

4A Vaucluse Rd, Vaucluse is attracting local and international interest

The couple bought the four-bedroom house with a pool, boatshed, ramp and jetty for about $12 million in 2016.

Back in Vaucluse, architect Joe Rooz, who’d been leading the architectural project for the Adlers, confirmed the development application had been pulled from Woollahra Council and said the Adlers were looking to sell.

Mr Rich said he’d heard rumours that the couple had decided to sell up.

The most likely agent to have secured the listing is Bill Malouf of LJ Hooker Double Bay, since he’d recently negotiated the quick $17 million sale of 26-27 Olola Ave, owned by the Reddam House founder Graeme Crawford and his partner Ian McLeod.

That was purchased by finance man Andrew Griffin, who’s now selling his home at 69 Edgecliff Rd , Woollahra, with $7 million hopes through Mr Malouf and Elliott Placks of Ray White Double Bay.

Mr Malouf wasn’t available this afternoon to confirm he’d won the prestigious listing of the Adlers’ seven-bedroom home with tennis court at 40-41 Olola Ave, which is a 2100 sqm block.

It’s not on not quite as big a block as the Crawford/McLeod home, but would most likely

sell for something more than $16 million.

CoreLogic records show the couple bought the home in 2002 for $6.5 million.
